About The Position

St. John the Baptist is hiring a part-time Child Care Associate to care for infants and toddlers as part of a positive, supportive team. The role’s primary responsibility is to keep children happy, engaged, and safe in a nurturing Christian environment. Available schedules are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (12 hours), or Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (20 hours).

The infant and toddler child care program provides a positive, nurturing environment. St. John the Baptist Church and School has served the Plymouth, Wisconsin community for over 150 years. Its private school serves students in grades 3K–8 in a close-knit, faith-centered, service-oriented environment. The organization welcomes individuals from all walks of life and seeks to serve its neighbors in the Plymouth community.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass CPR and First Aid certification training, or hold current certifications.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with others.
• Caring and compassionate attitude.
• Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including bending and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Child care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and supervising activities that promote children’s social, mental, physical, emotional, and educational development.
• Monitor children and maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Feed children and provide age-appropriate rest times.
• Keep records of each child’s progress, interests, and development.
• Maintain contact with children’s parents or guardians.
• Support children’s hygiene and change diapers for infants and toddlers.
• Clean the child care room to maintain a safe, orderly, and sanitary environment.
