About The Position

The Child Care Associate supervises and cares for children and babies in a small childcare setting. The role includes welcoming children and parents or members, helping children with everyday needs, organizing play activities, monitoring behavior, and maintaining a clean and sanitary nursery. Employees must give children and infants their full attention throughout scheduled shifts; studying and cell phone use are not allowed during shifts. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Requirements

• Current certification in infant/child CPR, First Aid, and AED.
• Be enthusiastic and constantly alert.
• Be capable of taking, listening, watching, and interacting with children of various age groups for various periods of time.
• Ability to anticipate and prevent potential problems.
• Ability to appropriately handle disruptive children.
• Ability to maintain patience and energy throughout a shift.
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents or members, children, co-workers, and management.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including sitting or standing, reaching, talking or hearing, frequent walking, occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching, and lifting or moving up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Arrive promptly at the scheduled time and wear the required uniform: a “The Club” T-shirt, black or khaki pants or shorts, and a Club hat only.
• Greet children and parents or members when they arrive.
• Assist children and babies with daily tasks, such as jackets, shoes, snacks, and toys they cannot reach.
• Contact a parent or member when a diaper needs to be changed.
• Organize and initiate playtime activities.
• Monitor and control children’s behavior, including appropriately handling disruptive children.
• Organize, store, and sanitize play equipment daily.
• Clean at the end of the shift, including disinfecting the bathroom and desks, chairs, swings, and cribs; cleaning windows; disposing of trash; vacuuming carpet; and washing linens and pillows daily.
• Give every child and infant full attention during scheduled shifts.
