Child Care Assistant Teacher
About The Position
Guidepost Montessori is hiring an Assistant Teacher, also referred to as an Assistant Guide, for its Central West End school. The role supports a mixed-age Montessori classroom serving infants, toddlers, and children ages 3–6. Assistant Teachers help create a calm, engaging environment in which children can explore, learn, and develop at their own pace. The Assistant Teacher helps prepare intentional learning spaces and supports individualized and small-group activities with respect, patience, and care. The role contributes to children’s independence, confidence, and love of learning while building a strong classroom community with Lead Guides, team members, children, and families. Guidepost Montessori is a network of more than 100 schools across the U.S. and Asia, serving children from 3 months to 6 years old. The organization’s mission is to transform education by helping every child reach their highest potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Requirements
- Experience working with children ages 0–6 in a daycare, childcare, preschool, or early learning setting.
- A positive, adaptable, and collaborative mindset.
- A genuine love for working with young children.
- Interest in learning and growing within the Montessori approach.
Nice To Haves
- Prior Montessori experience is welcome but not required.
