About The Position

BrightPath Kids is hiring a full-time Child Care Assistant Teacher for its toddler program at the Newtown center. The assistant teacher works alongside teachers and families to provide a home-away-from-home environment for children in accordance with NAEYC guidelines. Paid training on classroom procedures is provided, and prior classroom experience is not required. The role has no evening or weekend hours and pays $16.94–$18.50 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
• Assist teachers with classroom instruction.
• Decorate the inside and outside of classrooms as needed.
• Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment that supports children’s growth and exploration.
• Interact with children to encourage participation in activities.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child.
