About The Position

BrightPath Kids is seeking a full-time Child Care Assistant Teacher at its Elma East center in New York. The assistant teacher works alongside teachers and families to provide a home-away-from-home for children in accordance with NAEYC guidelines. The role involves children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Paid training on classroom procedures is provided, and no classroom experience is required. The pay range is $16.00–$18.00 per hour. The position has no evening or weekend work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
• Assist teachers with classroom instruction.
• Decorate classrooms inside and outside as needed.
• Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment where children can grow and explore.
• Interact with children to encourage participation in activities.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child.
