Child Care Assistant Teacher Floater
About The Position
BrightPath Kids is seeking a part-time Assistant Teacher Floater in Strongsville. The role supports classroom teachers and families in providing a home-away-from-home environment for children, following NAEYC guidelines. The position is scheduled from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with no evenings or weekends. The Assistant Teacher Floater helps maintain a warm, clean, and safe environment where children can grow and explore. The role involves supervising children ages 6 weeks to 12 years, assisting with classroom instruction, engaging children in activities, decorating classroom spaces as needed, and communicating with parents or guardians about their child.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized.
- Ability to work within regular operating hours.
- Must meet state criteria for child care employment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
- Assist teachers with instruction in the classroom.
- Decorate inside and outside of classrooms as needed.
- Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment that permits children to grow and explore.
- Interact with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child.
