About The Position

The Assistant Teacher works alongside teachers and families to provide children in care with a home-away-from-home experience in accordance with NAEYC guidelines. The role supports the care and learning of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years, helps maintain a safe, clean, welcoming classroom environment, and communicates with parents or guardians about their child. The position is part-time in Strongsville, with hours of either 2:00 PM–6:00 PM or 3:00 PM–6:00 PM. No evenings or weekends.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
• Assist teachers with classroom instruction.
• Decorate classrooms inside and outside as needed.
• Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment that allows children to grow and explore.
• Interact with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child.
