About The Position

Part-time position for a Child Care Aide is available in Lincoln Logs Learning Center at Lincoln Community School starting August 31, 2026. This position works with children ages 16 months to Kindergarten while parents attend English as a Second Language or GED classes.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Childcare experience working with same-age children
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
  • Must pass a background check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, or able to obtain within the first 90 days of employment
  • To lift up to 40 lbs for an extended amount of time
  • To physically carry out job tasks: sitting on the floor, running, walking, lifting
  • To use household cleaning supplies including bleach

Responsibilities

  • Support the creation of a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment for children.
  • Assist staff in carrying out daily schedules and lesson plans.
  • Collaborate with co-workers to organize an early childhood setting.
  • Engage with children purposefully to foster learning and development.
  • Monitor room activities, prioritizing the safety and well-being of children at all times.
  • Help with room setup, takedown, and adjustments as needed.
  • Assist in diapering, toileting and feeding children in accordance with program practices.
  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitization of the room, equipment, and toys using approved cleaning supplies.
  • Inspect toys and equipment daily to ensure safety standards are met.
  • Communicate with room staff about children's activities and needs.
  • For care environments, assume assistant teacher duties when they are absent.
  • Adhere to all state guidelines, MAPS policies and program practices.
  • Communicate and interact with parents in a kind and respectful manner.
  • Demonstrate understanding and acceptance of cultural differences.
  • Maintain positive, professional communication at all times.
  • Uphold confidentiality standards.
  • Model appropriate adult interactions with children.
  • Attend all staff meetings and required trainings
  • Other duties as assigned
