About The Position

As a member of the Parkpoint employee team, Child Care Aides are to demonstrate the Parkpoint’s Mission and Core Values of Excellence, Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Community and Health and Well Being at all times and in all interactions with members, staff, and managers. Provide interactive quality care to all children 3 months and up. Be mindful of safety, cleanliness, and fun. Exhibit a genuine concern for each child’s growth and development, providing a loving atmosphere for play and social interaction. Work as a team with other staff to initiate recreational activities, assist with learning, playing games, art projects, room clean-up, snacks, washing, diaper-changing and personal hygiene. Develop and maintain good relationships with all parents – keep them informed of their child’s Junior Club, activities, and camp experiences. Assist in answering the phone and taking reservations and cancellations.

Requirements

  • Registration with Trustline Registry; includes fingerprint and background check.
  • Hold and maintain a current CPR/AED certification for infants, children, and adults.
  • Complete the required California Anti-Harassment course and OSHA COVID Safety Training.
  • Attend all required departmental staff meetings and all-staff meetings and trainings.
  • Be a team-player, communicate with all staff to solve problems, bring any unresolved issues to your supervisor
  • Know and abide by all club rules and regulations regarding staff and members.
  • Present a neat well-groomed appearance at all times - dress in full uniform.
  • Stand, reach overhead, bend at the waist, sit, kneel, crouch, and be on all fours as necessary.
  • Lift, hold, and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Able and willing to work with cleaning and sanitation products.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and greet each child and parent in a friendly and professional manner when they arrive.
  • Find out how the child is doing and if there are any special needs for the day.
  • Help the child with separating from the parent if needed and get them involved with an activity.
  • Be informed and current with all Junior Club policies and procedures.
  • Offer helpful information to members and assure that they understand how Junior Club works.
  • Enforce policy as needed and be in accordance with procedures at all times.
  • Maintain good relations with the parents and children.
  • Work with them in a win-win manner to solve any problems that should arise.
  • Communicate any information or concerns regarding the parents or children to your supervisor in a timely manner and follow-up as determined by your supervisor.
  • Exhibit a genuine liking for the children.
  • Stay actively focused and involved with the children.
  • Promote Junior Club special activities and register children as needed.
  • Work as a team to provide a caring environment and play area that is neat, clean, safe and stimulating.
  • Provide activities, projects, games and interactions within the Junior Club area, outdoor play area or outdoor court area that are nurturing, positive and age appropriate.
  • Assist with set-up and clean-up of projects and activities.
  • Inform coordinator of needed supplies or maintenance.
  • Assist children and infants with snacks, feedings, hand washing, toileting and diaper changing as needed.
  • Lift, hold, and carry infants and toddlers as needed.
  • Answer phones, take reservations, cancellations and answer questions.
  • Complete periodic daily cleaning of the room and supplies, sanitation of the toys and end of shift clean up (including floor sweeping and mopping).
  • Assist children when they are having difficulties.
  • Problem-solve with the children and re-direct them as needed.
  • Attend to any injuries and contact parents immediately if necessary.
  • Fill out appropriate paper work.
  • Serve as a floater; assist with general club cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing as needed.
