Provide outpatient therapy to Children, adults and families for the purpose of improving the quality of life for the person/family served. This role involves providing integrated services that are welcoming, engaging, and accessible, addressing behavioral healthcare, physical healthcare, and social needs. The services are recovery-focused, strengths-based, culturally competent, client-centered, trauma-informed, and co-occurring capable. The position promotes a warm and engaging organizational culture in line with Northcare values, trauma informed care, and health and wellness. The therapist will carry a differentiated caseload involving highly complex cases requiring intensive clinical service and extensive professional diagnostic and treatment experience. They will provide individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and care coordination utilizing evidence-based practices. Consultation with other program staff within and outside of the agency is expected to facilitate referrals. The role includes performing intake interviews and initial assessments, gathering information about the client's symptoms, behavior, functioning, history, needs, goals, and preferences. The therapist will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support health behavior change in persons with behavioral health challenges. Genuine and professional interaction and collaboration with the client, their families, support system, and community partners is essential to assist with obtaining treatment goals. Crisis management services are also a key component, which may include face-to-face or telephone interviewing, assessment of lethality, assessment of available support systems, and assistance in arranging for appropriate intervention, including hospitalization. In cases where a potential for harm exists, appropriate assessment tools will be used, and in consultation with management, referral to the appropriate level of care will be facilitated. Immediate consultation with supervisors regarding crisis situations, including potential safety concerns, is required. The position requires obtaining and maintaining required credentialing, including licensure or under supervision status and Alcohol and Other Drugs Treatment Practitioner (AODTP) status. Understanding and competency in other instruments required by agency payors and/or commonly used by mental health/substance use professionals must be maintained. Participation in staff consultations for case presentation and diagnostic and treatment planning is expected. Mandatory program meetings are also part of the role. Support for monitoring and tracking outcome measures for clients is required. Clinical records must be maintained in a timely manner, consistent with agency policy, funding sources, and accreditation authorities. All required forms must be completed accurately. Professional competency must be maintained through readings, workshops, and trainings. Compliance with all requirements to maintain professional certification(s) is necessary. Knowledge of NorthCare's electronic record system, public folders, CCBHC requirements, ODMHSAS Services manual, contract requirements, benchmarks, National Outcome Measures (NOMS), and Medicaid rules and regulations is expected. Prompt return of phone calls and text pages, daily email checks, and consistent work attendance with timely supervisor contact for absences are required. Completion of all NorthCare required courses and training, and compliance with all agency policies and procedures, including documentation deadlines and productivity expectations, are mandatory.
