About The Position

Center for Human Development, Inc. is seeking a full-time Child and Family Therapist to provide direct treatment services in a clinic setting to clients with mental and emotional disturbances which includes children, adolescents, and parents; administration and evaluation of psychological tests; developing individual treatment plans; providing counseling and individual, family and/or group therapy; providing Parent-Child Interactive Therapy (5% increase once certified in PCIT). Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work or related field.
  • Two years of relevant mental health experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the above described duties and which would qualify the individual to be designated as a Qualified Mental Health Professional.
  • LCSW/LPC or willingness to pursue licensure.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to diagnose and treat mental illness and emotional disturbances and work effectively with severely agitated or distressed individuals.
  • Willing to work with all ages of children (0-18).
  • Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) certification or begin certification process upon hire.
  • All Master level QMHP’s must be credentialed as a mental health investigator or willing to pursue credentialing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with other programs, other agencies and professionals and the general public.
  • Thorough knowledge of the practices, principles and philosophy of mental health treatment, interviewing and counseling techniques and psychological testing and its application to the diagnosis and treatment of clients.
  • Must be able and willing to schedule work in a flexible manner, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Must pass all criminal history check requirements as required by ORS 181.536-181.537 and in accordance with OAR 407-007-0200-407-007-0370 and drug screening.
  • Must be able to complete 40 hour Peer Delivered Services training and register as a Traditional Health Worker- Family Support Partner with The Office of Equity and Inclusion within 90 days of hire
  • Must possess a valid Oregon Driver’s license and be insurable for client service purposes, travel between business offices, and to attend required meeting and/or trainings.
  • If masters degree has not been obtained, to be considered for this position you must be attending school and have at least 30 credits based on quarter completed, or 20 credits based on semester completed
