About The Position

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join the Division of Psychiatry within the Department of Pediatric Medicine. This is a clinically focused faculty position within a multidisciplinary pediatric oncology setting. The role offers the opportunity to provide longitudinal, team-based psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and young adults with serious medical illness. This position is particularly well suited for a child psychiatrist who values thoughtful, relationship-based care, close interdisciplinary collaboration, and meaningful clinical work within an academic medical environment that prioritizes patient care and education.

Requirements

  • MD or DO (or equivalent)
  • Completion of ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Eligible for Tennessee medical licensure
  • Interest in learning within this setting
  • Comfort with interdisciplinary care
  • Collaborative approach

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in pediatric oncology is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide longitudinal, team-based psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and young adults with serious medical illness.
  • Provide psychiatric care reflecting the full breadth of child and adolescent psychiatry within a medically complex setting, including adjustment to illness, anxiety, mood, and trauma-related concerns; neurocognitive and developmental effects of illness and treatment; psychopharmacologic care in the context of complex medical illness; and longitudinal support for patients and families across extended treatment courses.
  • Develop continuity of care and sustained therapeutic relationships.
  • Engage in clinical education and mentorship.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in program development.
  • Engage in clinically relevant scholarship aligned with individual interests.
  • Provide bedside and interdisciplinary teaching.
  • Supervise trainees.
  • Participate in seminars and conferences at St. Jude and affiliated institutions.
