About TCHATT: Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) delivers rapid access to behavioral health assessment and short-term intervention for youth referred through participating schools. The program provides secure telemedicine visits, supports crisis identification, and helps families connect to community-based treatment when needed. Job Summary: Through the TCHATT program, the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide tele-psychiatric evaluation, consultation, brief treatment, and coordination with school partners to support timely access to mental health care. This is a grant-funded position.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing with P-MHNP certification OR Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working as an advanced practice provider.
  • Must have current Texas Physician Assistant license or Texas APRN license with PMHNP certification.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year experience in a child and adolescent psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide telehealth services including psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing care for children and adolescents.
  • Complete tele-psychiatric assessments for students referred through TCHATT partner schools.
  • Diagnose and manage pediatric psychiatric conditions including mood, anxiety, ADHD, and crisis‑related concerns.
  • Provide brief treatment and medication management as clinically appropriate.
  • Collaborate with school counselors, teachers, and district staff to support referral pathways and student needs.
  • Provide consultation and training to school personnel on identifying mental health concerns.
  • Coordinate follow‑up recommendations and assist with transitions to ongoing community care.
