About The Position

TechInsights is at an inflection point, evolving from the world's leading semiconductor intelligence platform into a fully AI-enabled intelligence company. The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is central to this transformation. Reporting directly to the CEO as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CTO will have full accountability for TechInsights' technology strategy and the engineering organization, which spans AI Engineering, AI Policy & Governance, Reverse Engineering R&D, and IT Support. This role requires a leader who can operate at the intersection of bold vision and disciplined execution, translating corporate strategy into engineering capability, aligning technology investment with business outcomes, and representing TechInsights' capabilities to customers, partners, and the board of directors. The CTO will be the steward of TechInsights' proprietary foundation of semiconductor intelligence, reverse engineering data, structured market analysis, and advanced analytics, extending it through engineering excellence, robust platform development, and purposeful AI-driven innovation. This involves bringing deep expertise in agentic AI systems, cloud-native platforms, and applied machine learning to address high-stakes problems in the semiconductor industry. The ideal candidate will set enterprise-wide engineering standards, build and sustain a high-performance technology culture, and partner closely with leaders across Product, Sales, Operations, and Security & AI Governance to prioritize technology investments that drive TechInsights' strategic objectives. This role is for someone energized by scaling world-class engineering at the frontier of AI and semiconductor intelligence.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership, with at least five years in a senior executive role (SVP Engineering, CTO, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated success scaling engineering organizations and technology platforms in a data-intensive, B2B, or SaaS environment.
  • Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, data architecture, platform engineering, and modern software development practices.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing, geographically distributed engineering teams.
  • Experience with AI/ML platforms, large-scale data products, or content intelligence systems.
  • Experience supporting technology through M&A activity, including technical due diligence and integration.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Able to balance long-term strategic vision with near-term execution and operational discipline.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative, with a demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional peers in a matrixed environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in or familiarity with the semiconductor, EDA, materials science, or technology intelligence industry is a strong asset.
  • Exposure to export control frameworks, IP protection, or compliance requirements in a technology or research environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the enterprise technology strategy, aligned with TechInsights' corporate strategy, product vision, and revenue objectives.
  • Serve as a full member of the Executive Leadership Team, bringing a technology perspective to enterprise-wide decisions and representing TechInsights' capabilities to customers, partners, investors, and the board.
  • Lead technology investment planning across AI, machine learning, cloud infrastructure, and data platforms, balancing strategic ambition with the company's target net margin.
  • Model TechInsights' five priorities: Speed, Custody, Repeatability, Productivity, and Wellness, in leadership practice and decision-making.
  • Oversee AI Engineering, Reverse Engineering R&D, and IT Support, setting enterprise-wide standards for quality, consistency, and technical excellence.
  • Lead the applied AI and R&D agenda, determining how machine learning, generative AI, and advanced analytics are developed and deployed in production, including large language models, vector databases, semantic search, and domain-specific AI models.
  • Drive build-buy-partner decisions for advanced engineering capabilities and provide technical due diligence support for M&A and strategic partnerships.
  • Collaborate with Product and Commercial leadership to align engineering capacity and delivery cadence with product strategy and go-to-market timelines.
  • Partner with Security & AI Governance to ensure engineering operations meet the company's cybersecurity, data governance, and AI threat management requirements.
  • Lead the technology organization with full accountability for organizational design, team performance, and culture.
  • Build a high-performance engineering culture that attracts, develops, and retains top talent, with clear career frameworks and a strong leadership pipeline.
  • Oversee the engineering budget, define annual forecasts, and present investment recommendations to the CEO and board; define and monitor KPIs including delivery velocity, platform reliability, and AI adoption.
  • Lead AI Policy & Governance as a cross-cutting function, establishing the rules governing autonomous AI agent activity across TechInsights.
