About The Position

The Chief Technical Integrator – Continuing Airworthiness Projects (Dash 7 / Dash 8) is responsible for integrated technical leadership and execution of complex continuing airworthiness projects supporting the DHC Dash 7 and Dash 8 fleets. The role provides cross-functional engineering coordination and technical accountability for major in-service initiatives, modifications, service difficulty resolutions, regulatory mandates, product improvements, and fleet sustainment activities without direct reports. Reporting to the Director of Engineering (Dash 7/8) and acting as the focal point between Engineering disciplines, Airworthiness, Certification, Product Support, Program Management, and external stakeholders, the Chief Technical Integrator ensures technical solutions are developed, certified, implemented, and supported in a manner that maintains fleet safety, compliance, reliability, and operational performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Materials, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Progressive aerospace engineering experience supporting aircraft certification, modification, sustaining engineering, customer support, or continuing airworthiness activities.
  • Strong understanding of Transport Canada, FAA, and EASA regulatory requirements related to continued operational safety and fleet airworthiness.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex multidisciplinary engineering projects in an aircraft OEM, operator, or approved design organization environment.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft structures, systems integration, certification processes, and engineering change management.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capability.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project execution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensing as a Professional Engineer in Canada.
  • Demonstrates strong technical judgment and credibility across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Builds alignment and trust across Engineering, Airworthiness, Certification, Product Support, Program Management, and customer organizations.
  • Successfully delivers complex continuing airworthiness projects on schedule and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Drives effective resolution of in-service technical issues while balancing safety, customer, operational, and business objectives.
  • Promotes practical, certifiable, maintainable, and customer-focused engineering solutions.
  • Contributes to fleet reliability, safety, regulatory compliance, and long-term product sustainment objectives.
  • Fosters a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance engineering culture through technical leadership and influence.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities supporting continuing airworthiness projects across the Dash 7 and Dash 8 product lines.
  • Lead technical integration efforts involving structures, systems, avionics, interiors, propulsion, loads, stress, materials, certification, and customer support organizations.
  • Develop and execute project plans supporting aircraft modifications, product improvements, service bulletin development, repair solutions, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Lead technical reviews to ensure proposed solutions meet safety, certification, airworthiness, operational, and customer requirements.
  • Drive resolution of complex technical issues affecting aircraft reliability, maintainability, availability, and fleet performance.
  • Coordinate engineering responses to service difficulties, in-service findings, regulatory directives, and customer operational concerns.
  • Support development and implementation of corrective actions arising from reliability programs, investigations, accident prevention activities, and continued operational safety initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership for aging aircraft, obsolescence management, and fleet sustainment programs.
  • Interface with Transport Canada, FAA, EASA, operators, suppliers, and approved design organizations as required.
  • Identify technical risks, schedule drivers, certification challenges, and implementation constraints while developing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Support prioritization and execution of engineering activities required to maintain fleet airworthiness and customer support commitments.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for future fleet sustainment, modernization, and product enhancement initiatives.
