About The Position

The Chief Technical Integrator – Freighters is responsible for integrated technical leadership and execution of De Havilland freighter conversion and cargo aircraft development programs, including Large Cargo Door (LCD), Package Freighter, Quick Change, Cargo Combi, and future special mission cargo variants. The role provides cross-functional engineering coordination and technical accountability for complex modification programs without direct reports. Acting as the primary engineering focal point for freighter projects, the Chief Technical Integrator leads multidisciplinary teams through the development, certification, implementation, and entry-into-service phases of aircraft conversion programs. The role ensures technical solutions are safe, certifiable, manufacturable, supportable, and aligned with customer and business requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, Materials, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Progressive aerospace engineering experience supporting aircraft development, certification, modification, production, or sustaining engineering activities.
  • Strong understanding of Transport Canada, FAA, and EASA certification requirements applicable to aircraft modifications and cargo conversions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex multidisciplinary engineering projects in an aircraft OEM, approved design organization, or modification environment.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft structures, systems integration, certification processes, and engineering change management.
  • Demonstrates technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capability.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project execution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensing as a Professional Engineer in Canada.
  • Demonstrates strong aerospace engineering judgment and technical credibility across multiple disciplines.
  • Builds alignment and trust across Engineering, Manufacturing, Certification, Airworthiness, Program Management, and customer organizations.
  • Successfully delivers freighter conversion and modification programs that meet technical, certification, schedule, and business objectives.
  • Drives accountability, execution discipline, and proactive risk management throughout program lifecycles.
  • Promotes practical, certifiable, manufacturable, maintainable, and customer-focused engineering solutions.
  • Contributes to the growth and success of DHC freighter and cargo aircraft product offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering activities supporting freighter conversion and cargo aircraft modification programs across applicable DHC platforms.
  • Serve as the technical integration focal point between Structures, Systems, Interiors, Loads, Stress, Materials, Certification, Airworthiness, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Support, and Program Management organizations.
  • Develop and execute technical plans supporting cargo conversion programs from concept development through certification and production implementation.
  • Lead technical reviews and design integration activities to ensure requirements are properly defined, allocated, and achieved.
  • Drive resolution of complex technical issues affecting certification, manufacturability, installation, structural performance, cargo operations, maintainability, and aircraft performance.
  • Coordinate engineering activities supporting Large Cargo Door installations, cargo handling systems, package freighter conversions, quick change configurations, and combi aircraft modifications.
  • Support customer-specific freighter modification projects and special mission cargo applications.
  • Provide technical leadership for certification planning and compliance demonstration activities supporting Transport Canada, FAA, EASA, and other applicable regulatory authorities.
  • Identify technical risks, schedule drivers, certification challenges, and implementation constraints while developing effective mitigation plans.
  • Support production introduction, fleet entry-into-service, and post-certification technical issue resolution activities.
  • Contribute to product strategy and development of future freighter, cargo, and special mission aircraft offerings.
