About The Position

TTM Technologies is seeking a Chief Scientist, RF/Microwave Engineering to provide visionary technical leadership in the research, design, and advancement of RF and microwave components, subsystems, and systems. The role serves as the organization’s highest technical authority in this discipline, shaping strategic direction and establishing the technical foundation for next-generation capabilities. The Chief Scientist defines multi-year technology roadmaps and investment priorities over a 3–5 year horizon and translates emerging scientific advances into development programs. The position calls for a distinguished record of technical achievement, including patents, peer-reviewed publications, and recognition as a thought leader. The Chief Scientist engages with government sponsors, industry partners, and academic collaborators to identify opportunities and advance RF/Microwave innovation. The role also mentors engineering staff and senior principal engineers, develops external partnerships, contributes to capture strategy, and architects complex, high-performance system designs. The Chief Scientist evaluates existing capabilities, monitors competitors and emerging technologies, and assesses their relevance to TTM’s portfolio. The role defines and leads strategic R&D programs while contributing to hands-on research, champions advanced proposals, and provides authoritative guidance on critical technology initiatives. It also provides leadership on complex engineering projects, establishes technical objectives and milestones, collaborates across functions, communicates with customers and suppliers, and travels occasionally as required.

  • Expert proficiency with state-of-the-art field simulators and circuit simulation tools such as HFSS, Genesys, and ADS.
  • Recognized expertise in engineering design, measurement, and analysis tools applicable to passive and active RF/Microwave engineering.
  • Ability to independently design and resolve extremely complex engineering problems with minimal direction.
  • Ability to synthesize technical inputs from Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory functions and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, delegation, and technical team leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance when necessary for a project requiring one.
  • Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and applicable laws, including ITAR, EAR, and OFAC requirements.
