The Chief of Strategy, Shared Accountability, and Communications (CSSAC) serves as a key member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet and provides executive leadership for the District’s strategic direction, performance management, and internal and external communications. This role is responsible for ensuring that District priorities are clearly defined, progress is measured and monitored, and the story of Rio Rancho Public Schools is communicated with clarity, transparency, and purpose. The CSSAC leads the development and implementation of the District’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment across departments and coherence in how goals are set, tracked, and achieved. This position oversees research, assessment, data, and accountability systems to ensure that decision-making at all levels of the organization is informed by accurate, timely, and actionable data. The CSSAC works in close partnership with the Superintendent and Board of Education to support long-term planning, monitor district performance, and communicate progress toward key priorities. This role ensures that accountability is shared across the system by establishing clear expectations, building data literacy, and creating systems that connect strategy, programs, performance, and continuous improvement. An understanding of teaching and learning, curriculum, and leadership is essential to ensure that strategy and accountability efforts are grounded in the realities of schools and classrooms.
