About The Position

Eagle is on a mission to re-energize the engineering profession. The company partners deeply with engineering firms and builds an AI-native operating system to give engineers superpowers. Founded by Mayank Mardia (CEO), Sohum Daftary (President), and Thomas Shouler, P.E. (CTO), Eagle is backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners. The Chief of Staff role involves partnering with the Founders across buying great firms, helping them grow, and supporting Eagle’s operations. The ideal candidate will own workstreams, have a perspective, and mobilize people to get things done.

  • Can use AI tools every day to work faster, and can show how.
  • Willing to get on a plane and implement the ideas you come up with.
  • Excellent at communications, nuance, and persuasion.
  • Curious and resourceful, figuring out things we didn’t know before.
  • Show up and unblock the work, which often means meeting people, understanding them, and getting folks aligned.
  • Not afraid to ask hard questions and listen.
  • Bring people along with clarity, empathy, and intention.
  • Find the faster, better, and cost-effective path, whether it requires leveraging AI, bringing in people, or coordinating among vendors.
  • A very fast learner and new domains excite you.
  • Use AI tools daily and be comfortable learning new ones.
  • Comfortable learning new AI tools.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Founders across buying great firms, helping them grow, and supporting Eagle’s operations.
  • Own workstreams, have a perspective, and mobilize people to get things done.
  • Earn the trust of principals and engineers who've never worked with a tech company.
  • Run the integration cadence with firm leadership: 90-day plan, comp plan rollout, key hires.
  • Meet founder-owners of engineering firms and own the relationship from first call to close.
  • Maintain a high touch relationship with sellers and solve for their objectives.
  • Help with Eagle’s operations, including recruiting, logistics, and admin.
  • Surface opportunities within Eagle or our partner firms.
  • Act as an extension, and in some places, a replacement for the Founders.
  • Own important conversations and meaningful decisions.
  • Drive growth at partner engineering firms.
  • Build Eagle.
  • Spend time on deals (M&A).
  • Run Eagle's operations.
  • Work with the firms Eagle buys.
  • Lead deals.
  • Take on operating roles at the firms Eagle buys.
  • Take on senior roles at Eagle.
