About The Position

Setpoint is seeking a Chief of Staff to work directly with the founding CEO. This role is a blend of strategic partnership and operational execution, responsible for managing the company's executive-level rhythm, driving key CEO-owned projects, and ensuring decisions translate into tangible outcomes. The Chief of Staff will be involved in critical company conversations and is expected to use this role as a launchpad for future leadership positions within the company. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial operator with an ownership mindset, a force multiplier who enhances the CEO's effectiveness, highly organized, an excellent communicator, possesses a strong understanding of capital markets, and is comfortable with ambiguity and a bias for action.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of experience, with a strong preference for an ex-consulting (MBB) or ex-banking / PE associate background.
  • Operating experience at a high-growth startup is a plus.
  • Fintech, ABS, or capital markets understanding.
  • Ability to build and read a financial model.
  • Ability to own board-quality materials without hand-holding.
  • Exceptional writing and synthesis skills; ability to distill complex information into concise memos.
  • Track record of owning projects end to end in ambiguous environments.
  • Discretion, particularly in handling sensitive information related to compensation, fundraising, and personnel.
  • Low ego; willingness to perform a wide range of tasks.
  • Prior Chief of Staff, BizOps, or Strategy & Operations experience at a venture-backed company is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Run the CEO’s operating cadence: staff meetings, weekly business reviews, exec offsites, and quarterly and annual planning.
  • Drive 2 to 4 high-priority strategic initiatives at any given time, ranging from new pricing strategies to key partnerships to leadership hires.
  • Build and maintain the company’s goal-setting and tracking systems, including OKRs, KPIs, and relevant dashboards.
  • Attend key meetings, document decisions, and ensure follow-through across the executive team, proactively unblocking any issues.
  • Lead internal communications, including all-hands meetings, founder updates, and shaping the company narrative for employees, candidates, and the market.
  • Manage the CEO’s inbox, calendar, and attention, prioritizing what requires his direct involvement.
  • Act as interim owner for any function or workstream requiring leadership during the hiring process.
