About The Position

The Chief of Staff will serve as a strategic partner to the President & COO, driving enterprise strategy, operational excellence, and leadership alignment. This role is critical in translating strategic priorities into actionable plans, facilitating executive decision-making, and ensuring seamless execution across the organization. The Chief of Staff will also oversee governance, risk management, and communication, fostering a cohesive and high-performing leadership team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and six years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of leadership experience including responsibility for employee performance and resource management.
  • Understanding of health plan operations, financial levers, cost drivers, and business model economics.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect information across functions, anticipate interdependencies, and identify enterprise-level impacts.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, build trust, and maintain alignment across senior officers and functional leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, adjust to evolving priorities, and help leaders adapt during transformation.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Support the President & COO in setting enterprise strategy, shaping organizational focus, and coordinating across business functions.
  • Serve as a central orchestrator between strategy development and execution, partnering closely with the Enterprise Acceleration Office (EAO) to ensure seamless alignment and integration.
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, ensuring alignment between strategy development, execution, and enterprise initiatives.
  • Identify and resolve execution risks, competing priorities, and organizational barriers while providing executives with decision-ready insights.
  • Lead planning, facilitation, and follow-through for enterprise leadership forums, including the ELT, Executive Steering Committees, Quarterly Business Reviews, and other key operating meetings.
  • Develop clear, concise, and decision-ready materials that integrate cross-functional perspectives and support executive decision-making.
  • Maintain visibility into enterprise operations to proactively identify emerging issues requiring executive attention.
  • Coordinate the development, documentation, and administration of enterprise incentive goals and performance measures, ensuring alignment, accuracy, and audit readiness.
  • Prepare and oversee Board and committee materials that integrate strategic, operational, and financial insights.
  • Oversee board compensation policy and practices.
  • Maintain governance discipline, accuracy, and timeliness across all board-related workflows.
  • Partner with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) to identify, assess, and communicate operational, financial, compliance, and strategic risks.
  • Ensure executives have the information, analysis, and mitigation options needed to address risks and resolve issues that may impact enterprise performance.
  • Serve as an early detection point for organizational issues that may impede execution, alignment, or performance.
  • Promote leadership alignment, accountability, and transparency through consistent communication, shared expectations, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Facilitate intentional engagement between senior leaders and key stakeholders to strengthen cohesion and reduce silos.
  • Foster trust and alignment across senior officers through structured communication routines and cross functional integration.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and performance oversight to the Manager, Executive Office, ensuring executive support services and alignment with enterprise priorities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement through coaching, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing, resource allocation, and operational effectiveness within the Executive Office functions.
  • Negotiate and manage sensitive contracts, agreements, and organizational matters with discretion and sound business judgment.
  • Lead high impact, cross enterprise initiatives requiring executive sponsorship and coordination.
  • Represent the CEO, President & COO, and CAO as a delegate when appropriate to maintain momentum and continuity.
  • Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned or directed.
