About The Position

The Chief of Security coordinates and monitors the facility’s overall security operations, ensures proper staffing levels across shifts and posts, and maintains the safety and security of staff and inmates. The role promotes compliance with applicable policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; preferably in Social or Behavioral Science or a related field.
• Four years of correctional work experience, including two years as a Shift Supervisor, Unit Manager, CoreCivic department head, or equivalent.
• Three years of supervisory experience overseeing correctional employees as part of correctional work experience.
• Additional qualifying full-time correctional supervisory experience may substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis.
• Knowledge of correctional custody methods and techniques, pertinent facility rules, regulations and standards, and principles and practices of supervision and training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
