This is a new start-up Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) position in Behavioral Health located in Tucson, Arizona. The role requires a strong leader with extensive inpatient behavioral health experience, nursing leadership expertise, and ideally, experience in a start-up environment. The CNO will set the vision for nursing practice, ensuring safe, timely, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered care. This includes collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, managing nursing personnel, and developing strategic goals for the nursing staff. The position involves anticipating and managing changes in census and acuity, allocating resources, and serving as a role model for customer service and patient safety. Key responsibilities include determining and assessing performance objectives, organizing and reviewing policies and procedures to meet regulatory and quality standards, and overseeing the operational and financial efficiency of the nursing department. The CNO will also lead and develop nursing staff, manage the departmental budget, and handle staff management functions such as hiring, development, training, and performance management. The role may require providing direct patient care as needed.
