About The Position
River Place Behavioral Health, part of Acadia Healthcare, is seeking a strategic, compassionate, and operationally strong Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to lead nursing practice and drive exceptional patient outcomes throughout their organization. River Place Behavioral Health is a 104-bed acute psychiatric hospital serving adolescents and adults across the greater New Orleans region. Located in LaPlace, Louisiana, the hospital provides state-of-the-art, evidence-based behavioral healthcare in a safe, therapeutic, and patient-centered environment. As Chief Nursing Officer, you will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for advancing nursing excellence, operational performance, and quality patient care.
Requirements
- Active RN license (Louisiana or eligible for endorsement)
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent experience required
- Minimum six years of registered nursing experience required
- Minimum two years behavioral health nursing experience in an inpatient setting required
- Minimum three years of progressive nursing management or administrative leadership experience required
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree in Nursing or related healthcare field strongly preferred
- 10+ years of nursing experience preferred
- Behavioral health leadership experience strongly preferred
- Prior CNO or Director of Nursing experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Drive nursing strategy and operational excellence across all clinical services
- Mentor and develop nursing leaders and high-performing teams
- Ensure compliance with TJC, CMS, and regulatory standards
- Oversee staffing, workforce planning, and budget management
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary treatment teams
- Monitor clinical outcomes and champion quality improvement initiatives
- Influence organizational strategy and executive decision-making
