About The Position

Lifepoint Health is hiring a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to oversee Havasu Regional Medical Center in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The Joint Commission-accredited, Medicare-certified hospital has 152 beds and serves as both a community hospital and regional referral center, offering services across major medical disciplines. The hospital is a joint venture between PHC-Lake Havasu, Inc. and community physicians, and is partially owned or invested in by physicians. The CNO has ultimate administrative responsibility for nursing standards and practice throughout the facility, regardless of practice area or reporting relationship. The role directs nursing activities within hospital policies and procedures, ensuring continuous and timely nursing services and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, accreditation requirements, current research, and national professional standards. The CNO directs nursing performance-improvement activities, participates in hospital leadership, collaborates with hospital leaders on patient care and staffing, and develops, presents, and manages the nursing-services budget.

Requirements

Licensed Registered Nurse with a valid, active nursing license in the state where the facility is located; a single-state or multi-state license is acceptable if it meets state practice requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or higher.
Master’s Degree required (MSN or MHA).
Minimum of 3–5 years of CNO experience in an investor-owned healthcare organization.
Prior experience with Joint Commission preparation and the survey process.
Knowledge of nursing principles, theories, and practice standards.
Verbal, interpersonal, and quantitative skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement an overall nursing plan consistent with hospital policies and objectives to provide continuous nursing care and services.
Develop, implement, and interpret nursing and patient-care policies, objectives, and standards for measuring and maintaining quality nursing care.
Develop, implement, and administer the nursing-services budget and expense-control system.
Prepare the master nursing-services staffing plan.
Organize, direct, and supervise daily nursing services to ensure adequate hospital coverage and quality care.
Recruit, interview, evaluate, and hire qualified personnel to meet patients’ needs.
Participate in developing, implementing, and maintaining the hospital quality-assurance and improvement program, including evaluating services, quality improvement, medical-record audits, patient visits, and consultation with hospital staff.
Maintain communication with medical and administrative staff through regularly scheduled meetings and participation in hospital medical-services committees.
Forecast nursing-care service levels and material needs to evaluate long- and short-range equipment and supply requirements.
Direct, plan, and implement orientation and educational programs to promote staff training and development.
Recommend and participate in developing new patient-care programs to expand nursing-care services.
Represent the hospital in healthcare programs and professional organizations to support public relations and professional growth.
Ensure continuous and timely nursing services to patients.
Ensure nursing standards, practices, policies, and procedures comply with applicable laws and regulatory and accreditation requirements and align with current research and national professional standards.
Direct nursing-services performance-improvement activities.
Participate actively in hospital leadership functions.
Collaborate with hospital leaders to design and provide patient care and services, including ensuring sufficient qualified nursing staff.
Develop, present, and manage the nursing-services budget.
