About The Position

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team at The Vines Hospital, a specialized 98-bed inpatient facility. The CNO will integrate and coordinate a patient-centric nursing strategy with a focus on patient care, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective healthcare delivery aligned with Universal Health Services (UHS) mission, vision, and values, and in compliance with regulations. The CNO participates in strategic planning and contributes to institutional goals, focusing on People, Service, Quality, Growth, and Finance. The role offers autonomy in managing nursing teams with corporate clinical and educational support, participation in an active Nursing Council based on shared governance and evidence-based practice, and opportunities for internal leadership and clinical education, including tuition assistance and continuing education allowances. UHS also supports career advancement, including a COO-in-Training program and various regional/national corporate roles. The position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

  • Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of FL.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a CCNE accredited nursing program.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management.
  • Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Three or more years of progressive nursing management experience in a behavioral health setting preferred.
  • Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others’ activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Nursing is strongly preferred.
