About The Position

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is a key member of the senior leadership team at River Oaks Hospital, a 126-bed psychiatric facility located near New Orleans, Louisiana. The CNO will integrate and coordinate a patient-centric nursing strategy with a hands-on approach, focusing on patient care and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective healthcare delivery consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services (UHS). This role involves participating in strategic planning and contributing to institutional goals, with a focus on five key areas: People, Service, Quality, Growth, and Finance. River Oaks Hospital is part of the Coastal Harbor Health System and has been providing treatment for mental illness and addictive disorders since 1970, offering inpatient services for adults and adolescents, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.

Requirements

• Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of LA.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a CCNE accredited nursing program.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices, regulatory guidelines, and management.
• Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others’ activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment.

Nice To Haves

• Master of Science in Nursing is strongly preferred within the first year in role.
• Five or more years of progressive nursing management experience in a free-standing behavioral health setting preferred.
