About The Position

Vibra Healthcare is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer to join our team at Ballard Rehab Hospital in San Bernardino, CA. Ballard Rehab Hospital is a 60-bed rehabilitation facility dedicated to helping patients regain independence after disabilities caused by injuries or illnesses. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, friendly environment where close relationships with patients and families are fostered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required.
  • Master’s Degree in Health Administration, Nursing or related field required.
  • Five (5) years experience in a Nursing Management position supervising the delivery of patient care required.
  • Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment required.
  • Current BLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor required.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required where work is provided in multiple sites.
  • Ability to project a professional image.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
  • Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in Rehab preferred.
  • Current ACLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directing and facilitating the activities of nursing and clinical services.
  • Assuming an active leadership role in the hospital’s decision-making structure and process.
  • Ensuring and facilitating the competence of clinical staff.
  • Facilitating and ensuring appropriate staffing for patient care.
  • Developing clinical programs.
  • Developing hospital-wide systems, policies, and procedures for patient nursing care assessment, evaluation, and meeting needs.
  • Overall responsibility and accountability for the development of staffing plans and departmental budgets.
  • Planning for appropriate utilization of resources.
  • Maintaining or improving the work environment.
  • Monitoring and improving the quality and appropriateness of care.
  • Assuring appropriate staff for patient acuity.
  • Working closely with Physicians to address patient care needs and enhance patient care systems.
  • Promoting the facility through active involvement in external and internal healthcare activities.
  • Supervising designated clinical departments, which may include nursing, therapies, dietary, radiology, laboratory services, employee health, infection control, and staff development.
