The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) will collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments, and administration to ensure all residents’ physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs are met. The CNO will also acknowledge and work to resolve customer complaints when needs are not met. This role involves directing, supervising, and evaluating the work activities of all nursing personnel, providing clinical leadership, and setting strategic and long-term goals for the nursing staff. The CNO will anticipate and effectively manage changes in census and acuity, allocating nursing resources based on patient acuity and care needs. They will serve as a role model for customer service and demonstrate a sense of urgency regarding patient safety. Additionally, the CNO will determine, assign, and assess performance objectives for the nursing department and organize, coordinate, develop, and review policies, procedures, and nursing protocols within the facility to meet all regulatory, compliance, and quality care standards.
