About The Position

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Optum Community Care Services will provide senior clinical leadership for healthcare programs integrated across the continuum of care. The role calls for expertise in clinical quality, utilization management, regulatory compliance, and leading multidisciplinary teams and complex clinical programs. The position is remote from anywhere in the United States, with travel of up to 10%. Remote employees must comply with UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy. The annual salary range is $292,300–$438,500, based on full-time employment and factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. Requirements

MD or DO with an active, unrestricted U.S. medical license.
Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Surgery, Physiatry, or Emergency Medicine.
15 or more years of clinical experience, including 5 or more years in a senior clinical leadership role.
Proven expertise in clinical quality, utilization management, and regulatory compliance.
Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex clinical programs.
Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proficiency in data analysis and evidence-based decision-making.
Ability to travel up to 10%.

Nice To Haves
