About The Position

As Chief Marketing & Growth Officer (CMGO), you will be responsible for building Peliplat into the most influential cinema community in Latin America while driving the subscriber and revenue growth that powers our next stage of expansion. This role goes beyond traditional marketing. You will own the entire growth journey—from brand awareness and user acquisition to engagement, subscription conversion, retention, and revenue growth. Working closely with Product, Content, Community, Operations, and Business Development teams, you will shape how Peliplat grows its audience, scales its creator ecosystem, expands into new markets, and converts community engagement into long-term business growth. We are looking for a leader who understands how modern internet communities are built. Someone who sees growth as the result of exceptional user experiences, strong creator ecosystems, cultural relevance, and products people naturally want to share.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in growth, marketing, product-led growth, or consumer technology businesses
  • Proven track record of scaling consumer apps, creator platforms, media products, gaming products, subscription businesses, or online communities
  • Strong expertise in both growth marketing and brand building
  • Experience building acquisition, retention, referral, and monetization strategies at scale
  • Deep understanding of creator ecosystems, digital communities, and social platforms
  • Experience leading multi-market growth strategies, ideally across LATAM or other high-growth international markets
  • Strong analytical and strategic capabilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous, early-stage or scale-up environments
  • Equal parts brand builder, growth operator, and business leader
  • Think in systems, not campaigns
  • Obsessed with community, culture, and consumer behaviour
  • Understand creators as both community builders and growth engines
  • Highly data-driven but deeply intuitive about cultural trends
  • Comfortable moving between strategy and execution

  • This position is based in Vancouver, BC, so we are only considering those based locally and eligible to work in Canada.

  • Scaled a consumer social platform, creator ecosystem, entertainment app, or subscription business to millions of users
  • Experience in streaming, gaming, fandom, creator economy, or entertainment ecosystems
  • Built viral growth, referral, or community-led acquisition programs
  • Experience in LATAM markets (Brazil is a strong plus)
  • Owned subscription growth, monetization, or recurring revenue businesses
  • Passionate about film, storytelling, fandom culture, and digital communities

Responsibilities

  • Own Peliplat's subscriber growth, revenue growth, and overall growth strategy across Latin America
  • Lead initiatives that drive acquisition, activation, retention, subscription conversion, and customer lifetime value
  • Identify scalable growth opportunities across product, community, creators, partnerships, and marketing
  • Use data, experimentation, and market insights to drive business performance and resource allocation
  • Partner closely with Product teams to optimize the user journey and subscription experience
  • Design scalable acquisition and retention strategies across Spanish, Portuguese, and English markets
  • Develop referral systems, invite mechanics, and viral growth loops that encourage organic expansion
  • Identify low-cost, high-impact growth opportunities through creator communities, partnerships, and product-led initiatives
  • Establish repeatable growth playbooks that can support future international expansion
  • Partner closely with Product teams to optimize onboarding, activation, engagement, retention, and subscription conversion
  • Establish Peliplat as the Home of Movie Buffs and the leading cinema community brand in Latin America
  • Build culturally relevant campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and organic growth
  • Scale Peliplat's creator ecosystem by attracting critics, filmmakers, influencers, streamers, and community leaders
  • Drive adoption of Virtual Screening Rooms and other core community behaviours that increase engagement and retention
  • Build programs that transform users into advocates and creators into long-term platform partners
  • Develop strategic relationships with film festivals, entertainment organizations, media partners, and industry stakeholders
  • Build and lead a high-performing marketing and growth organization
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, accountability, creativity, and execution
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align growth initiatives with company objectives
  • Establish clear performance metrics and ensure marketing and growth investments deliver measurable business outcomes
