About The Position

The Chief Information Officer directs and coordinates information/business systems, technology, and telecommunications planning and functions, including all phases of system design, programming, installation, and operations. This role also directs all aspects of the organization’s voice and data communication networks. The CIO reviews and evaluates project feasibility studies based on management’s requirements and priorities and implements the installation and operation of information systems and equipment. Additionally, they develop plans to ensure that the organization’s long-term telecommunications needs are identified and met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Sciences, Engineering or Engineering Mathematics or related degree is required.
  • Five to eight years of progressively responsible experience in designing and integrating systems solutions for medium to large organizations is required.
  • Three or more years of experience must have been in a management, strategic or project development role is essential.
  • Experience in using performance metrics to quantify/benchmark IT performance.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge in current IT technologies, progressive project management, innovative service delivery, budget management skills, and a track record of excellent verbal and written communication with multiple constituencies is essential.
  • Analytical ability and extreme organizational skills are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the implementation of e-Business, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer/Client Relationship Management (CRM), Six Sigma and Information Technology Infrastructure solutions, is preferred.
  • Frequent local travel may be required which necessitates a valid State of Georgia driver’s license and be fully insurable for the purpose of obtaining clearance on company “Authorized Drivers List.”

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and recommend policies, objectives, budgets, plans procedures and schedules for the department.
  • Develop, recommend, implement and monitor uniform programs.
  • Conduct quality control audits and evaluate work standards and performance levels ensuring uniformity, effectiveness and appropriate staffing levels.
  • Identify technology and information management needs within the organization; analyze, evaluate, and implement best-value technology solutions.
  • Ensure the information and technology needs of the organization as expressed in its strategic visions are supported consistently.
  • Stay abreast of new technology and applications and their potential for improving the business processes of the organization.
  • Develop and implement short- and long-range strategic plans.
  • Develop and implement performance measurement systems for technology and telecommunications applications.
  • Maintain quality assurance and oversight of systems.
  • Ensure data, systems, and communications security.
  • Manage integration of systems, maintenance of legacy systems, and all technology change initiatives.
  • Identify the skills sets needed and develop those skills sets in departmental personnel.
  • Participate in hiring and promoting subordinate employees; train subordinates; assign, direct and review their work.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
