The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will provide technology vision and leadership in the development and implementation of the information Services (IS) program. The CIO will lead the hospital in planning and implementing enterprise information systems to support both distributed and centralized clinical and business operations and achieve more effective and cost beneficial enterprise-wide IS operations. Additionally, the CIO will: Provide strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the information and technology systems for the hospital; Facilitate communication between staff, management, physicians, vendors, and other technology resources within the organization; Oversee the back office computer operations of the hospital management information system, including local area networks and wide-area networks; Manage multiple information and communications systems and projects, including voice, data, imaging, and office automation; Evaluate, design, and implement the systems that support end users in the productive use of computer hardware and software; Develop and implement user-training programs in conjunction with Educational Services; Oversee and evaluate system security and back up procedures.
