About The Position

Heritage Federal Credit Union is seeking a strategic and collaborative Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team. The CFO provides leadership and oversight of the credit union's accounting, finance, treasury, investments, budgeting, forecasting, asset-liability management, liquidity, and financial reporting functions while helping drive the organization's long-term strategic success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Minimum 12-18 years of progressive leadership experience in the banking or credit union industry.
  • Executive-level experience leading accounting, finance, treasury, and enterprise financial strategy.
  • Financial reporting and GAAP expertise
  • Asset-liability management (ALM) and treasury management
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
  • Regulatory compliance and financial risk management
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and drive organizational results

  • Master's degree and CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute financial strategies that support organizational goals, growth initiatives, and long-term financial performance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors on financial strategy, performance, and risk management.
  • Participate in executive committees and lead financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, investments, and business expansion.
  • Maintain a three-year Accounting & Finance roadmap encompassing projects, systems, and key initiatives.
  • Oversee all accounting, financial reporting, financial systems, and data integrity functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide accurate financial statements, regulatory reporting, executive dashboards, and actionable performance insights.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, profitability analysis, and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Direct treasury, liquidity, capital, investment, borrowing, and asset-liability management (ALM) strategies to optimize financial performance and manage risk.
  • Ensure appropriate liquidity management, contingency funding readiness, and compliance with NCUA, GAAP, and other applicable regulations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulators, auditors, and external financial partners.
  • Oversee enterprise financial risk management, including interest rate, credit, and liquidity risk.
  • Present financial results, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors.
  • Support development of financial products, services, and business lines, and negotiate key vendor contracts to protect the credit union's financial interests.
