About The Position

Our client is seeking an accomplished and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join a complex, mission-driven organization. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CFO will provide executive oversight, strategic direction, and accountability for the organization's financial stewardship, long-term financial sustainability, enterprise risk management, and financial governance. This executive will partner closely with senior leadership to develop and execute financial strategies that support organizational objectives while providing executive oversight of accounting, budgeting, treasury, financial reporting, audits, internal controls, compliance, financial systems, and enterprise financial planning. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, technology-savvy finance executive with extensive leadership experience in complex organizations, exceptional business acumen, and a proven ability to build high-performing teams, strengthen financial operations, and serve as a trusted strategic financial advisor to executive leadership and teams.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in finance/accounting.
  • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience, including executive-level oversight, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing 3+ finance/accounting team members.
  • Diverse background preferred -- nonprofit or public-sector/government (required), and for-profit (a plus) environments.
  • Demonstrated experience advising staff and leadership on finance & accounting regulations and practices, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) AND Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards.
  • Recent experience leading Finance/Accounting for organizations with multiple lines of business, 'preferably' with annual revenues of $50M or more.
  • Recent experience Sage, SAP – preferred, or similar – required.
  • Experience with financial analytics and KPI reporting.
  • Experience researching and implementing legislation affecting non-profit, government agency / public-sector accounting practices and procedures (GASB Statements).
