About The Position

This is more than a finance position - it’s an opportunity to help shape the future of a mission-driven organization serving seniors, families, and children throughout our community. The CFO serves as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and oversees the financial health, strategic planning, operational efficiencies, and technology infrastructure of the organization. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who can balance big-picture strategy with day-to-day operational excellence. They are equally comfortable presenting financial forecasts to the Board of Trustees, supporting leaders across departments, and identifying innovative ways to improve systems and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
  • Minimum five years of experience as a senior finance professional or CFO within a nonprofit organization
  • CPA and/or CMA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting, budgeting, audits, and financial compliance
  • Experience with financial systems, HRIS, and operational technologies
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences

Responsibilities

  • Lead all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, audits, cost reporting, financial statements, cash flow management, and long-term financial planning
  • Oversee organizational accounting practices and ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable nonprofit regulations
  • Partner closely with leadership to support strategic growth and operational decision-making
  • Prepare and present financial reports, projections, and analyses to executive leadership and the Board of Trustees
  • Supervise and support finance and technology leadership, including the Controller and Director of IT
  • Oversee audits, tax filings (990s), insurance, retirement plans, and related corporate compliance functions
  • Drive process improvement and leverage technology solutions to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate across multiple departments and subsidiaries to support sustainable operations and mission-focused outcomes
  • Participate in strategic planning initiatives and organizational development efforts
