About The Position

The CFO is a senior YTEL executive responsible for the company's overall financial strategy, operations, and health, including managing financial planning, accounting, budgeting, and risk management, specific to the complex rural telecom sector. YTEL is a relatively new tribal business, who has obtained various federal and state funding to build and deploy its telecom network and business.

Requirements

• A master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is with at least 5 years of equivalent experience, or a bachelor’s degree in the above fields with Ten years of equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 10 years in accounting and financial management, with at least 5 years in a management role.
• Experience in tribal government similar services and/or telecommunications or a similar regulated industry is highly beneficial.

Nice To Haves

• A CPA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works with the CEO and Board to develop long-term financial and business strategies, create and manage budgets and forecasts, and connect business strategic plans to capital and operating budgets.
• Oversees financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, treasury/cash management, adherence to policies and/or policy revisions, and risk management.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including reporting requirements for the FCC and Public Utility Commissions (PUCs).
• Oversee applicable federal grant and financial reporting compliance, including applicable annual Single Audits.
