About The Position

California Rural Staffing Services partners with a variety of rural healthcare organizations across California, including hospitals, clinics, public hospital districts, Federally Qualified Health Centers, tribal healthcare organizations, community healthcare organizations, regional health systems, and long-term care providers. They are seeking experienced executives interested in Chief Executive Officer opportunities. These roles involve leading organizations that are often vital to their communities, serving as major employers, trusted resources, and essential lifelines for care in geographically isolated areas. Leading rural healthcare in California requires more than just operational expertise; it demands the ability to build trust, support staff, collaborate with boards and community leaders, manage resources effectively, foster partnerships, and understand the unique challenges of rural settings such as distance, transportation, workforce shortages, and reimbursement pressures. The ideal CEOs are visible, practical, transparent, financially responsible, and deeply committed to their communities, understanding that rural leadership is a personal endeavor with a significant regional impact.
