About The Position

Mountain Capital Partners (MCP) is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for its Las Vegas-area platform, specifically to lead Lee Canyon resort. This is a strategic leadership role, distinct from a traditional General Manager position, focusing on building the business, enhancing profitability, elevating hospitality, and driving growth in Southern Nevada. The CEO will oversee Lee Canyon through its General Manager while also developing a broader hospitality platform in the Las Vegas market, integrating and growing additional assets as MCP expands. The role emphasizes strategy, financial performance, organizational design, stakeholder relationships, hospitality leadership, and long-term value creation. MCP is an expanding company, offering opportunities for leaders who deliver results to grow into larger roles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, hospitality, recreation, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Significant senior leadership experience in hospitality, lodging, resorts, recreation, food and beverage, or a business of comparable complexity.
  • Experience owning broad business results, including strategy, financial performance, talent, and external relationships.
  • Experience leading through senior operators rather than managing every tactical detail.
  • Demonstrated success improving margins, strengthening operating discipline, and growing revenue.
  • Genuine understanding of and passion for skiing, mountain recreation, and the guest experience in a ski-resort environment.
  • An ownership mindset: taking responsibility for fixing what is broken and building on success.
  • High agency: proactively solving problems without waiting for permission.
  • Strategic clarity paired with operator credibility.
  • Financial discipline and comfort owning a P&L.
  • Strong hospitality instincts and judgment to improve guest-facing businesses.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in business, management, hospitality, or related field.
  • Experience as a CEO, President, COO, Division Leader, or similarly broad business leader.
  • Experience in hospitality-heavy markets such as Las Vegas, destination resort communities, gaming-adjacent hospitality, or similar environments.
  • Experience integrating new business lines, acquisitions, or multi-asset platforms.
  • Experience improving food and beverage operations and broader guest-experience businesses.
  • Experience with capital projects, construction oversight, development coordination, permitting, or entitlements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy for MCP's Las Vegas-area platform, aligning with the company's mission of 'Giving People the Freedom to Ski'.
  • Develop and execute a multi-year strategic plan, translating vision into annual priorities, KPIs, and a culture of accountability.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen Lee Canyon as a year-round business and grow adjacent hospitality operations.
  • Oversee the Lee Canyon General Manager, ensuring clear leadership rhythm, feedback, accountability, and strong execution.
  • Ensure the resort has the right organizational structure, decision rights, and leadership bench for high performance.
  • Drive broad business results for the Las Vegas-area platform, including revenue, cost discipline, labor efficiency, capital planning, and profitability.
  • Improve margin performance at Lee Canyon through financial discipline, organizational clarity, and operating rigor.
  • Partner with resort leaders to enhance food and beverage performance, hospitality standards, and guest-facing execution.
  • Build systems, scorecards, and operating cadences for stronger business management.
  • Help MCP establish, integrate, and grow additional hospitality operations in the Las Vegas area.
  • Bring hospitality mindset and leadership to enhance guest experience.
  • Assess inherited teams, retain talent, and build or upgrade leadership.
  • Create a unified vision across mountain and lodging/hospitality operations.
  • Support the planning and execution of growth and improvement projects, including resort improvements, hospitality upgrades, development planning, and future expansion.
  • Work with partners (consultants, contractors, architects, engineers, agencies) to advance projects.
  • Navigate permitting, entitlement, land-use, and stakeholder processes, including public agencies and environmental considerations.
  • Prioritize, scope, sequence, and execute projects to support the business strategy.
  • Serve as MCP’s senior representative in the Las Vegas-area market.
  • Build productive relationships with the Forest Service, local and state officials, community stakeholders, and other key partners.
  • Represent MCP as a long-term owner-operator committed to building great businesses.
