About The Position

Agate Beach Inn is seeking a Chief Engineer to operate and maintain the property’s interior and exterior facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, general equipment, and grounds. The hotel is a 148-room oceanfront property with a restaurant and lounge, indoor pool and spa, and more than 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The role involves hands-on maintenance of a large, full-service coastal property and compliance with brand standards and applicable codes and regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or five years of related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of basic repair and maintenance skills, including carpentry, grouting, painting, caulking, and blueprint reading.
• Ability to work independently.
• High motivation.

Nice To Haves

• Hospitality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the entire hotel facility, including the building structure, grounds, mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC systems, and related equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
• Maintain and upkeep the facility, furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E), grounds, and swimming pool.
• Monitor life-safety systems and utilities.
• Administer the department’s compliance with corporate and franchise standards and local, state, and national codes and regulations to protect assets, guests, and associates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
