About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer with a valid USCG license and a strong background in diesel-electric propulsion and dynamic positioning (DP) systems. The role manages vessel engineering operations, ensures compliance with industry standards, and supports safe and efficient offshore operations. The Chief Engineer oversees vessel systems, troubleshoots and repairs critical equipment, monitors engine performance and fuel efficiency, leads and trains the engineering crew, coordinates with the Captain and shore-side management, and maintains maintenance and inspection records.

Requirements

• Valid USCG Chief Engineer license (Motor Vessels) with OICEW.
• Extensive experience with diesel-electric propulsion systems.
• Strong understanding of dynamic positioning (DP) technology.
• Knowledge of vessel automation and control systems.
• STCW certification and a valid TWIC card.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous offshore or subsea support vessel experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain vessel mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with a focus on diesel-electric propulsion and DP systems.
• Ensure compliance with USCG, ABS, and ISM regulatory standards.
• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on critical systems.
• Monitor engine performance and fuel efficiency to optimize vessel operations.
• Manage the engineering crew, provide guidance, and ensure proper training.
• Work closely with the Captain and shore-side management to ensure operational readiness.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
