The Chief Engineer is responsible for the oversight of the building maintenance of the property, including the interior and exterior. This person must be knowledgeable in HVAC, Refrigeration, and Electrical Engineering. They will perform complex analytical work in providing office and building engineering support and field engineering support to ensure technical competence and compliance with all current codes and criteria. This position is fundamental to the administrative and operational functions of the Company/Property and requires established organizational skills, attention to detail, solid time management, and good interpersonal skills. As the key employee of the building operations, the Chief Engineer is essential to the longevity of all equipment and the aesthetic nature of the property. The Chief Engineer must perform job duties with a view toward projecting a professional and competent image. Service to the customer in a friendly and outgoing manner is also essential, while timelines and maintaining a clean atmosphere are key. The position is fundamental to all mechanical functions of the community and includes working closely with the Association Manager and their maintenance team to operate the community and facilitate solutions to all types of maintenance problems. Strong leadership skills, customer service skills, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities are required.
