About The Position

The Chief Engineer is responsible for operating and maintaining Agate Beach Inn’s interior and exterior facilities. This includes HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, general equipment, and grounds. The role also oversees preventive maintenance and repairs, supports life-safety and utility monitoring, and helps ensure the property meets applicable corporate, franchise, and legal standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or five years of related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of basic repair and maintenance skills, including carpentry, grouting, painting, caulking, and blueprint reading.
• Highly motivated and able to work independently.

Nice To Haves

• Hospitality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the entire hotel facility, including the building structure, grounds, mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC systems, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems and equipment, and maintain the facility, furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E), grounds, and swimming pool.
• Monitor life-safety systems and utilities and administer the department’s compliance with corporate and franchise standards and local, state, and national codes and regulations to protect assets, guests, and associates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
