About The Position

The University of Nebraska Medical Center is seeking a Chief of General Internal Medicine to lead its division. This role offers the chance to build upon a 50-year history of clinical care and education. The division comprises 57 physicians and researchers who are involved in teaching medical students, conducting research, and practicing medicine across nine locations in the Omaha metropolitan area. These locations include the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Durham Outpatient Clinic, Nebraska Medicine Olson Center for Women’s Health, Midtown, Bellevue Medical Center, Brentwood, Nebraska Medicine Eagle Run, Fontenelle, Nebraska Medicine Elkhorn, and Nebraska Medicine Village Pointe. The Chief will report to the Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine and will be responsible for clinical services, teaching, research, academic planning, development, and resource management.

Requirements

  • M.D. degree (or equivalent)
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine
  • Currently hold the rank of Associate Professor or Professor
  • Experience in leadership and management in an academic setting
  • Outstanding clinical skills
