The ETSU Department of Internal Medicine invites board-certified or board-eligible Internists to join our established inpatient hospitalist team. Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of inpatient internal medicine and evidence-based clinical practice.
  • Skilled in teaching, mentoring, and evaluating medical students and residents.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record documentation and clinical workflow optimization.
  • Commitment to professionalism, ethical practice, and patient-centered care.
  • Ability to balance clinical duties with educational and scholarly responsibilities.
  • Capacity to contribute to academic initiatives, including research, quality projects, or committee service.
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Successful completion of Internal Medicine residency program from an ACGME-accredited program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible at time of interview

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, treat, and manage hospitalized patients
  • Mentor and teach medical students and residents during inpatient rotations
