Develops the global commercial strategy protecting Volk’s premium price, high margin position together with identifying clear focus areas for profitable growth and driving execution. This includes sales, marketing, pricing and distributor strategies globally. Establishes/develops and leads a high-performance commercial team (regional sales managers, marketing and sales ops) and implements professional, impactful commercial management (e.g. efficient Key Account Management, consistent forecasting). In addition to managing his/her team he/she will also be responsible for driving revenue at customer level through direct field work. This means direct business development, relationship management and project management of selected top tier key accounts. In that he/she is primary point of contact for inquiries of top-tier accounts and central source of information for product or service inquiries as well as creating and monitoring major customer contracts. He/she will be responsible for establishing as well maintaining / engaging with a panel of KOLs in optometry and surgical ophthalmology (retina and glaucoma/MIGS focus areas) to promote Volk products. Identifies new revenue growth opportunities and develops strategies and partnerships to execute on them. This may include expanding into new adjacent market segments, entering new industries or adapting products or services to new customer segments as well as further geographic expansion and scaling sales in key geo regions. Understands and remains fully up to date on main market/competitor/product/pricing trends to inform his/her commercial strategy as well as to provide input to the overall company strategy. Works effectively with and efficiently integrates his/her team with internal stakeholders including R&D, Finance, Quality, Customer Service, Operations and Regulatory Affairs. Drive the product development roadmap (in conjunction with R&D team) to ensure that Volk remains competitive across all markets and starts to become an innovative company once again. This is a board-level role, alongside Volk President, CFO, CTO, and VP Operations. As a Volk board member, he / she will play a key role in defining, leading and shaping the overall Volk business strategy. He / she will be accountable for delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets globally. The CCO will be instrumental in shaping annual budget. He/she will own development of the commission plans and sales incentives for Volk sales team globally. Lead all commercial and marketing activities for product launches including the KOL engagement, strategic partners and distributor engagement and training activities, lead generation, KPIs, etc. Goal and target setting, KPI and performance objective setting, performance management. Develop a pipeline of M&A opportunities in conjunction with the President and Volk board. Oversee tradeshow activity globally while ensuring the right level of investment to achieve the desired ROI.
