About The Position

Hinds LifeCare, a nonprofit agency specializing in hospice and palliative care, is seeking a Chief Clinical Officer (CCO). The CCO will be responsible for the overall direction of leadership, strategy, quality, and operational performance of all clinical programs and services. This includes executive leadership for various care delivery models such as hospice outpatient and inpatient services, pediatric services, palliative care, bereavement services, community grief support, and future clinical programs. The CCO will oversee clinical operations, quality improvement, patient safety, education, and clinical outcomes, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, strategic priorities, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of five to seven years of progressively responsible healthcare leadership experience, including responsibility for clinical operations, quality, program development, and interdisciplinary team leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply organizational/management concepts effectively and to establish reasonable goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, evaluate, and coordinate work of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accountability and to work independently.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and a willingness to use personal vehicle in the course of employment.
  • Must show proof of automobile insurance, proof of current auto registration and acceptable driving record (no more than 3 points within a 36-month period).
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (i.e., Push, Pull, Lift/Carry 35 lbs.)

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Hospice and palliative care leadership experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all clinical operations including: Outpatient Hospice Services, Inpatient Hospice Services, Pediatric Hospice Services, Palliative Care Services, Future Serious Illness Care Programs, Center for Grief & Healing Bereavement Services, Community Bereavement Programs, Clinical Education and Staff Development.
  • Provides executive leadership for quality, compliance, patient safety, clinical outcomes, education, and care delivery across all service lines.
  • Serves as executive sponsor for organizational quality improvement initiatives, including CMS quality measures, accreditation readiness, patient experience, and clinical performance improvement.
  • Oversees the Quality and Education functions and ensures organizational learning, competency validation, professional development, and regulatory training requirements are met.
  • Develops and maintains a culture of continuous quality improvement, regulatory compliance, patient safety, and operational excellence.
  • Leads strategic planning and implementation efforts related to hospice, palliative care, pediatric services, bereavement, and future clinical programs.
  • Provides executive oversight for all clinical and supportive care service leaders, including but not limited to: Hospice Operations, Inpatient Services, Outpatient Services, Pediatric Services, Palliative Care Services, Center for Grief & Healing, Bereavement Services, Quality, Education, Clinical Program Development, Future Care Delivery Models.
