Responsible for ensuring work is performed following established procedures for quality and productivity, within prescribed budget and meets all required safety codes and policies. This includes reviewing and approving work orders, obtaining and evaluating subcontractors, creating preventative maintenance plans, performing QA/QC inspections for all building systems evaluations, and communicating and coordinating with management for necessary reporting. The role also involves the supervision of Building Technicians, including recruiting/hiring, supervision, recognition, disciplinary actions, salary administration, performance appraisals, and terminations. Additionally, the Chief Building Technician is responsible for the development, evaluation, and training of assigned staff to ensure high skill levels and technical competence. Secondary responsibilities include performing the duties of a Building Technician IV, providing operating and capital expenditure recommendations, and other job-related duties as assigned. The position also participates in the design and construction of new facilities and fit outs, reviews and comments on submittals and design submissions, and supervises and enforces safety protocols for all internal staff and third-party vendors.
