This role is well suited to an ambitious facilities leader ready to assume technical authority, people leadership, and operational ownership of a complex, high reliability site. You will directly lead a 5–7-person facilities technician team while serving as the site’s primary technical escalation point. You will lead and supervise a multi-disciplinary facilities team (5-7 technicians), establishing clear work assignments, shift coverage, cross-training plans, and back-up coverage to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 operations.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of progressive experience with industrial or regulated facilities systems, including chiller plants (York preferred), HVAC, Gas-fired boilers, CDA, BMS, plumbing, fabrication, and utilities.
  • 5-7 years of experience managing electrical infrastructure, including power distribution, emergency power systems, UPS, generators, and electrical safety practices.
  • 5-7 years experience of direct leadership experience managing facilities or maintenance teams in a manufacturing, laboratory, or regulated environment and comprehensive understanding of troubleshooting for mechanical/electrical/pneumatic systems.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, Facilities Management, or related); equivalent experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee safe operation, maintenance, and optimization of critical building systems including chiller plants, HVAC, CDA, steam boilers, BMS, and site utilities, acting as the technical authority for the facility.
  • Provide ownership of site electrical infrastructure, including normal and emergency power systems, switchgear, panels, UPS systems, generators, and coordination of electrical maintenance and upgrades.
  • Own and continuously improve the Preventative Maintenance (PM) Program using approved CMMS software, prioritizing resources, coordinating downtimes, and validating PM effectiveness across all trades.
  • Manage parts, tools, service contracts, purchase order requisitions, and budgets, ensuring adequate inventory, critical spares, and vendor coverage to support the facilities team.
  • Demonstrate strong people leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, development planning, scheduling, and accountability for a skilled facilities workforce.
  • Structure daily and weekly work planning, balancing corrective maintenance, PMs, projects, and regulatory commitments across a multi-trade team.
  • Maintain effective relationships with contractors and vendors, ensuring safe execution, schedule adherence, and quality workmanship for mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Enforce safety, regulatory, and compliance standards, ensuring OSHA, Cal/OSHA, electrical safety (NFPA 70e), lockout/tagout, confined space, Hot-Work, and internal EHS procedures are consistently followed.
  • Lead investigations, CAPAs, and non-conformances related to facilities equipment and infrastructure, driving root-cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions.
  • Support a 24/7 facilities operation, including participation in an on-call rotation and emergency response leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with site leadership, translating technical risks into operational impact and capital planning recommendations.
