The position involves responding to service calls, resolving emergency situations, and performing work that may require lifting heavy equipment in extreme temperatures. The Chief Building Engineer will supervise operations and maintenance, monitor building equipment, conduct inspections, generate work orders, and report critical findings to property management. Key responsibilities include ensuring effective staffing levels, establishing and updating preventive maintenance programs, monitoring staff performance, implementing Fluidics policies, training on-site personnel, and assisting with administrative tasks such as payroll and scheduling. The role also involves supporting long-range planning for equipment replacement, recommending energy efficiency improvements, overseeing safety programs, managing permits, and adhering to purchasing policies. The position requires a strong understanding of building systems and a commitment to efficient and economical operations.
